The San Joaquin Schools for Ministry (SJSM) present a unique educational resource, which is made up of a partnership between the Diocese of San Joaquin, and the Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary (MBBS) in Fresno.

The San Joaquin Schools for Ministry provide two schools of formation for ministry: one is an accredited Master of Divinity program in partnership with MBBS (SJSM provides the Anglican studies component), and the second is a diaconal studies program. SJSM classes are open to anyone who would like to study the Christian faith and increase their knowledge of Anglicanism.

The Diocese of San Joaquin continues to have approximately 40 people who are at various stages canonically in their application and formation for Holy Orders for either the diaconate or the priesthood.

How to Assist our Seminarians

1. Please pray for our seminarians and instructors. Formation for ministry is a daunting process and your commitment to pray for them will be much appreciated.

2. Please consider making a donation to San Joaquin Schools for Ministry. Your gift will be a great blessing to seminarians who have made a costly commitment to answer our Lord’s call to ministry. 100% of your donation will go toward the seminarians’ tuition and books. You may specify the seminarian for whom the gift will be given, or offer your gift to the seminarian who has the greatest need. However, if you specify a seminarian by name, the donation does not qualify as tax-deductable.
